Legit.ng, a leading digital media in Nigeria and the biggest Facebook publisher in Africa, is looking for a results-driven and experienced journalist and translator to fill the role of Hausa editor.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Hausa Editor at Legit.ng, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring trending politics, human angle, entertainment stories e.t.c on social media platforms.
• Writing and publishing 8 Hausa news articles in line with our in-house style guide.
• Conducting exclusive interviews and crafting special format articles such as features, analyses, fact-checks, and more.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A degree or diploma in journalism, media studies, or a related field (additional qualifications in Hausa language and literature will be an advantage).
• Significant experience in journalism and Hausa writing.
• Exceptional writing skills, including storytelling and grammar.
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to monitor news effectively.
• Excellent communication and interviewing skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Access to a good internet connection and a laptop (minimum Intel Core i3).
• Proficiency in using social media platforms effectively.
